Antique hand made German pottery pewter miniature lidded beer stein mug tankard
Up for sale is a rare antique handmade German miniature pottery and pewter beer stein. It has a beautiful salt glazed finish over a blue and gray color and has dimensional scenes wrapping the sides. The handle holds a hinged pewter lid with an ornate design on the top. It measures 2 1/2 inches tall by 2 1/2 inches wide and in nice condition. Which will be a charge of 7% due to New Jersey state law. Please make sure to look at all pictures very closely before purchasing, as most pieces in my shop are non refundable. Marzi & Remy Antique Lidded Mug German Beer Stein – Pin Boy Bowling circa 1940’s. This beer stein has been made in Germany around 1940’s by Marzi & Remy. Has transfer scene (PUG with hand painting) in the middle. Lid is signed K. Schafer 5.4.1940 Bottom has been repaired (please check last pictures for more details). Alle neun (All nine). The firm of Marzi & Remy was founded in the Westerwald town of Höhr in 1879 by Anton Marzi and Simon Peter Remy. By the end of the 19th century M&R employed more than 100 workers and had become one of Germanys leading stoneware producers. Although it managed to survive two World Wars, the company found itself unable to cope with the rapidly changing marketplace of the late 20th century and was forced to permanently close its doors in 1994.
