Marzi & Remy Antique Lidded Mug German Beer Stein – Coachman Drinking ca. This beer stein has been made in Germany around 1920’s by Marzi & Remy. Has transfer scene (PUG with hand painting) in the middle. Stein in good condition, lit has been repaired (please check last pictures for more details). The firm of Marzi & Remy was founded in the Westerwald town of Höhr in 1879 by Anton Marzi and Simon Peter Remy. By the end of the 19th century M&R employed more than 100 workers and had become one of Germanys leading stoneware producers. Although it managed to survive two World Wars, the company found itself unable to cope with the rapidly changing marketplace of the late 20th century and was forced to permanently close its doors in 1994.
