Antique German Pressed Glass Character Beer Stein – Miners Lamp c. Description: This unusual beer stein is made of pressed glass in the form of a miner’s lamp. The character steins in form of a miner’s lamp are well known among the character stein collectors. The glass mining lamp stein is the only glass character stein I know. The stein was enameled with the black enamel at the bottom and decorated with gilded highlights. The lid is made of pressed metal. Antique German/Bavarian Theresienthal Enameled Green Glass Beer Stein w/Enamel c. Description: This beautiful antique beer stein was made of blown glass in around the early 1880s. The glass is colored in beautiful brownish-green, shaped in an interesting form with formed bands and pedestal. The stein is decorated with hand-painted enameled floral decor. The enamel is quite thick, creating a 3D appearance. The stein was made by the most famous Theresiental glass factory. The beaded prunts and the specific bottle-green/brownish color are the distinctive features of this factory’s production. The Theresienthal factory was established in 1836 in the town of Zwiesel in Bavaria. One of the most common features of the factory was enameled decorations of various kinds. The lid is made of heavy cast pewter in the steeple form topped with the pointed finial. Please note – the stein is 100 original from the period! I guarantee my description and dating. Overall in very good condition, only knock is a line where the handle mates up to the base of the stein (exactly as pictured – I will attempt another shot of the area that shows it better). This is a beautiful antique blown amber glass stein. The main scene is of a barley crowned crest/shield. The pewter lid also has a saying that wraps around it, Wenn Muth Erschlafft, stärkt Gerstensaft. ” that translates to, “When Courage Deflates, Barley Juice Strengthens. Large Antique German Glass Beer Stein Figural Pewter Enameled A’Schmarrn G. Description: Fantastic large antique German beer stein made of hand-blown crystal glass with applied handle, enameled decoration and absolutely astonishing pewter. The design shows a waitress in a tavern bringing some dish to a group of men in traditional Bavarian attire, with one of the man being very excited about the dish (and maybe the waitress as well). Apparently, the Bavarian life was considered true German unspoiled bucolic way of living. The name of the painting is “Kaiserschmarrn” – it is a popular Bavarian desert dish of shredded pancakes with many different sweet sauces and fillings. So, the waitress in the picture is bringing these “A’Schmarrn” to the table. The stein features absolutely fantastic pewter with a steeple lid toppled with a figural finial in the form of a dancing Bavarian couple. The stein also has a massive ornate foot ring – the pewter mounts of this quality are rarely seen. The lid is engraved with a presentation inscription: Gew. (Gebirgs Trachten Erhaltungs Verein) is a “Mountain Costume Preservation Society”. Goldbergler Helfendorf is still present and quite active in the Helfendorf area of Bavaria. Impressive c1880s German Cut Glass Crystal Pewter Lid 1.5L Andvari Gnome Stein. Presented is an impressive antique German cut glass crystal stein or pitcher, with pewter mounts. The body of the stein is heavy weight cut glass in a ten sided, paneled design. The stein stands on a round foot with a star design cut into the bottom. The handle, thumbpiece and bottom of the lid are pewter, well made and sturdy. The thumbpiece is done in the form of a charming little gnome figure (the gnome king Andvari, in fact) sat astride a beer barrel, arms raised in a most celebratory fashion with a beer stein in one hand and what looks to be a turnip in the other. The stein has a capacity of 1.5 liters, or 50.7 fluid ounces. This piece is in excellent condition. The glass has no chips, no cracks, no breaks, and no repairs. The pewter lid and handle are in great shape, with no breaks or repairs.
