We are offering a German white porcelain Shierholz Musterschutz (copyrighted) 0.5L porcelain lidded beer stein with ornate thumblift. The tang is firmly affixed to the lid and the strap is tight. Antique German/Bohemian Glass Beer Stein White Overlay Wheel Cut c. 1870s
Antique German/Bohemian Glass Beer Stein Clear w/White Overlay Wheel Cut c. Description: This beautiful old stein was mouth-blown of crystal glass around the 1870s. The majority of steins of this type were made in German Bohemia – now Czech Republic. It was made using a very complex and labor-intensive technique called “overlay” – a freshly-blown clear glass stein was submerged into a white glass to create a layer of white overlay. It was then stone-cut, creating heart-forming facets that reveal the clear glass surface. The handle is attached the white glass layer and also stone-cut. The lid has a porcelain overlay with a beautiful miniature painting of a couple riding a boat with a musician to entertain them. This is a real hand-painted miniature, not the usual paint over transfer outline. There is a polished-out pontil mark on the bottom. The pewter mounts have a 3-ring open hinge and ornate thumblift – the typical techniques used in the 1870s. The stein is in excellent mint condition. Rare Antique German Faience Stoneware with Pewter Lid Beer Stein Blue White Brown
Rare Antique German Faience Stoneware w/ Pewter Lid Beer Stein Blue White Brown. This is a very old beer stein from our German mother’s estate. Before she inherited it, it was displayed in our grandmother’s living room in Munich since at least 1950 and most likely much longer. The stein was manufactured in the town of Bayreuth in Bavaria, Germany. Mark on the bottom represents Frankel & Schreck who owned the factory and used the mark in 1747. The church depicted on the pewter lid is the Pfarrkirche in Haidhausen. Information about this church in Munich dates back to the 9th Century. Condition of the stein is quite good for its age. The handle and rim at the top show wear. There is a hairline crack on the inside going about 2 inches down from the rim. The crack does not go through to the outside. Measures 5.25 inches tall. I believe this to be from the 1950s? Great no damage, cracks , chips lid can do with a polish it looks a bit tarnished the pewter / metal? A great Display piece for your collection or to use. There is a mark in the bottome which im sure can be washed out, I havent washed this its just been behind the bar for over 30+ years Backstamped with the following germany 3055 16.
