1/2L Field Artillery Pre-WW1 Antique German Regimental Beer stein – Lid has two soldiers with cannon finial and imperial eagle thumblift. This is an authentic and striking Pre WW1 regimental beer stein. The body is mint and the lid is very good overall, save for an obscured hole at the top perhaps the original owner added a flag or other item that has been lost to time? The lid is quite interesting in that, besides the Imperial Eagle thumblift there are two gunners and a cannon at the top! Finally, the body has a lot going on. The central image displays Gefreiter Leber on horseback along with 5 Battr. 27 there is more after the 27, but I can’t make it out… There are 2 more scenes: one with the cavalry. Riding and bringing along the cannons towards battle, and then the gunners have the cannon set up and they are firing it. Into a smokey battle!
