“Student & Barmaid with Saying”. German ceramic, etched, 1 L, inlaid lid. Was kann uns mehr erfreuen, als Weib, Gesang und Wein? Ein gut Glas Bier um halber acht, wenn mir’s die Eva hat gebracht. And translates to : What can give us more pleasure than women, song and wine? A good glass of beer at half past seven, if Eva brings it to me. Mettlach – signed Schlitt. Condition and Description: Overall a very good condition specimen, only condition issue of note is a faint 1.1 hairline to the inlay, body is excellent+ (faint hairline shown in last pic, exactly as pictured). This is a fun stein, with great color, presence and displays incredibly well – Schlitt’s style truly shines through! Height: 9.8 tall from base to top of thumblift.
