Antique HR Hauber & Reuther Beer Stein #450 Relief Tavern Scene by F. Description: This antique German beer stein was made by Hauber & Reuther (HR) manufacturing company in 1890s. The steins produced by HR are ones of the most collectible and desirable for the excellent quality and also rarity. The stein is made of stoneware in relief technique and hand-painted. The decorations show people in the Tyrolean clothes resting in a tave rn. A woman is playing zither – a traditional German string instrument. Excellent quality heavy ornate pewter lid. High relief decoarations with full body being used for display. The handle is nicely integrated into the upper frieze and design at attaching points. Antique German Beer Stein Relief Three Landsknechts by A. Description: This beautiful stein was made in Germany by Adolph Diesinger in the 1890s. Diesinger is one of the most collectable beer stein manufacturers. The beer stein made in his factory are considered by some collectors as “quintessentially German”. Adolph Diesinger – the owner of the factory – was at the same time the artist who created these designs – very close to “naive art” to the point of being kitschy. Made in relief technique with a center panel deco rated with relief picture of a medieval soldier carrying a crossbow. This is “Landsknecht” – a mercenary soldier of XV – XVI centuries, a very popular subject matter in A. The lid is pewter with ornate thumblift. Marked with “Germany” – the “Germany” or “Made in Germany” was required for all the items that potentially could be exported, according to the German “Merchandise Marks Act of 1887″. Diesinger took a patent on his designs and started marking his stein with DRGM patent statement. So we can with much certainty say that the stein was made between 1887 and 1901. Great vintage German pewter lidded beer stein by Munzel Koblenz. Hallmark with Angel and scales of justice on the bottom. Engraved hunting scene with satin brushed borders. Insides are turned and polished for easy cleaning 7.5 tall capacity 23 ounces. Overall excellent vintage condition with only a few slight rub marks. No cracks or significant bends.
Antique Large German Stoneware Beer Stein, Genre Hunting Scene in Relief, c1900
This antique German stoneware beer stein depicts a lively tavern scene in relief and is a fine addition to any breweriana collection. Crafted around 1900, this large lidded stein was made in Germany and features intricate details that showcase the country’s rich brewing heritage. Blue Red Green and Cream colors! A lidded stein, and it appears to have been manufactured in Germany but makers mark appears to have been worn over time and age. The stein’s theme revolves around breweriana, and the hunting scene depicted on it adds to its uniqueness. There are two noted things that I want to call out. One the top of the pewter lid appears to be slightly bent (could be how it was made but I want to call it out). Two there is a slight crack on bottom of stein. It’s not through and is hairline.

Circa 1920 Bavarian Pewter Beer Stein with German Relief Artwork, Made In Germany. Minor ding on lid. Minor crack on thumb piece. Angel and Balance Makers Mark on bottom (for authenticity). I’ve only been able to find 4 others online period, 3 others identical to mine with just the differences of dings and tarnishing. I’m offering mine for much less due to the fact there is a very minor age crack starting on the thump piece (in the pictures) and a little bit of a bend on the top front lip of the lid in the pictures.
