VINTAGE 1948 STRAUBIING GERMANY 1957 GERMAN BEER TANKARD WITH PEWTER LID HONORING TANK COMPANY FIRST BD 6TH ARMORED CAVALRY REGIMENT. BEAUTIFUL CONDITION HAS THE PEWTER ARMOR TANK ON THE TOP ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL IT IS PERSONALIZED ON THE BOTTOM TO THE PERSON THAT WAS AWARDED TO ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS NUMBER 469 ON THE BOTTOM AND GOLD AND SAYS TANK THIS IS A VERY RARE PIECE. STRAUBIING IS NOT THE MAKER STRAUBING IS A CITY IN SOUTHERN GERMANY IN THE BAVARIA DISTRICT WHICH WOULD HAVE BEEN WHERE THIS TANK DIVISION WOULD HAVE BEEN STATIONED THIS DOES NOT REALLY HAVE A MAKER’S NAME ON IT SO IT WAS PROBABLY SPONSORED BY THE UNITED STATES ARMED FORCE AND WITH ALL THE ATTENTION TO DETAIL AND HIGH QUALITY I’M SURE IT WAS A VERY PRESTIGIOUS MAKER WHO MADE THESE.

VERY LARGE 3-LITER GERMAN BEER STEIN. This is a nice old pottery stein from Germany. It has deeply embossed designs of figures from the Crusades including Peter von Amiens and Balduin. The pottery is cream colored with a dark green background. The stein has a hinged pewter lid with a thumb rest. There are German words in a band which translate roughly to. On the Jurney to the Promised Land, Many a big Fire is Suffered- Drink in Long Drafts Sufficient for You Here. It is stamped #331 3L in the bottom. It is a large stein measuring 15-1/2″ tall and it measures 6-1/4″ diameter at the base. It is beautifully adorned with Edelweiss flowers. It is brightly colored with a cobalt background. The pottery is a cream color. The stein has a hinged pewter lid with a thumb rest. There are plaques which read. Kredenzt das Dirndl Bier und Wein. Spielt der Hager die Zither recht fein. Which roughly translates to English to say. “If the Diandl serves beer and wine- does the hunter play the zither very well”. It is stamped GERMANY #1029 3L. It is a large stein measuring 18″ tall and it measures 6″ diameter at the base.
