This is a lovely RARE Antique Tübinger Igel Hedgehog / Hobnail Glass German Beer Stein. The hinged metal lid is surmounted with an eagle, a raised view of a typical drinking scene in copper relief, and an inscription around the outside which dates to 1891/92. Measurement of “1/4 L” is etched to the side of the glass at the fill line. Measures 4-1/4″ tall including the Eagle x 4″ diameter at widest point. Please see photos for more details. Antique etched glass beer stein with pewter lid. Lid has a floral decorated crest. Etching is of Schlok (castle) Rothenfels Bavaria Germany. Wear on bottom as to be expected. Someone scratched their initials into the underside of lid. Measures approximately 8 7/8 inches tall. The base is 3 3/4 inch diameter.

The first stein in this lot is handblown glass body with a pewter lid with optical cuts. The pewter lid features a floral thumb lever. The top has leaf foliage details. This stein measures 8 1/4″ tall with a 3 1/2″ base and 6 1/4 wide with the handle. The second stein is pressed glass body with a details pewter lid, which features a acorn finial and styled lion formed thumb lever. A really nicely details pewter top marked’Reichs’. German WWI beer stein glass pewter lid possibly US made pre-1917 German American
German WWI beer stein, glass, with a pewter lid with a ceramic insert of presumably Queen. Auguste Viktoria von Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Augustenburg. The stein is imprinted with a German flag and Wilhelm II’s cypher on one side; a black-yellow flag for Austria-Hungary and red-white-green flag and cypher likely representing the Triple Alliance of Germany, Italy, and Austria-Hungary (wisely, Italy swapped sides as the war began), and words Mit Ver Inten (Verinten) Kraften lit. “With the combined forces” but more of a we’re all in this! A name, looks like two initials and “Helbig” is engraved on the lip. Stein is about 4.5 inches tall. Possibly US made pre-1917 German American support for Germany? In any case, it’s glass and cool looking.
