Impressive c1880s German Cut Glass Crystal Pewter Lid 1.5L Andvari Gnome Stein. Presented is an impressive antique German cut glass crystal stein or pitcher, with pewter mounts. The body of the stein is heavy weight cut glass in a ten sided, paneled design. The stein stands on a round foot with a star design cut into the bottom. The handle, thumbpiece and bottom of the lid are pewter, well made and sturdy. The thumbpiece is done in the form of a charming little gnome figure (the gnome king Andvari, in fact) sat astride a beer barrel, arms raised in a most celebratory fashion with a beer stein in one hand and what looks to be a turnip in the other. The stein has a capacity of 1.5 liters, or 50.7 fluid ounces. This piece is in excellent condition. The glass has no chips, no cracks, no breaks, and no repairs. The pewter lid and handle are in great shape, with no breaks or repairs. This piece stands about 15 inches tall and measures about 5 inches in diameter at the base, or about 7 1/8 inches from handle to spout. Powered by SixBit’s eCommerce Solution.
German Beer Stein Lustige Leut, Beautiful German Ceramic And Pewter Lid.
Circa 1920 Bavarian Pewter Beer Stein with German Relief Artwork, Made In Germany. Minor ding on lid. Minor crack on thumb piece. Angel and Balance Makers Mark on bottom (for authenticity). I’ve only been able to find 4 others online period, 3 others identical to mine with just the differences of dings and tarnishing. I’m offering mine for much less due to the fact there is a very minor age crack starting on the thump piece (in the pictures) and a little bit of a bend on the top front lip of the lid in the pictures.
How you see it, is exactly how it was received. This beautiful stein measures 12 tall. I do not see any breaks, cracks, or repairs to it. The soldier on the lid is missing whatever it was he was holding in that loop in his hand and his barrel of the gun has a slight bend to it. Excellent Print Under Glaze Mettlach stein by artist Heinrich Schlitt. It depicts drinking companions. It is in excellent condition with no cracks, no chips, etc. Dated 1906 on the bottom.
Antique 1800s German Glass Beer Stein w/ Pewter & Hand-Painted Porcelain Lid 7.
Antique German Saxonian Biedermeier Glass Beer Stein Hand Blown Stone Cut dat. A classical German glass beer stein from the period of late Biedermeier 1820s – to 1850s. Beer steins made before 1850 fall into the “early” category – they were made in pre-industrial period using manual techniques and old technologies. Blown crystal glass with applied thick handle scrolled. Wide pedestal with large pontil mark. Hollow ball thumblift and large five-ring closed type hinge – all typical for the late Biedermeier period. The stein was hand-blown and elaborately stone-cut to create facets and decorations for a beautiful optical effect. This type of glass beer steins were made in the German state of Saxony in 1820s-1850s. They’re usually called the “wedding steins” because the majority of them were made as wedding gifts – they were expensive, nicely decorated and useful – a perfect wedding gift. The lid is engraved with the intials C. That means the stein was made on or before this date – I guarantee my description and dating. It is marked with pewter markings that belong to Carl Gotthold Breitfeld – a pewterer in Annaberg (Saxony) who opened his shop in 1820 and died in 1869. Excellent flawless condition of the glass, the thumblift on the pewter is bent. Nice very typical beer drinking vessel over 180 years old! I guarantee my dating. 9.25 tall to the top of the thumblift, about 1 L capacity. Please note that the glass beer steins are perfectly safe to use for their purpose – to drink beer! Condition: Glass excellent, thumblift bent. Height: 9.25 in. Get images that make Supersized seem small. Track Page Views With.
