Antique German Beer Stein Threaded Relief Gnomes by A. Diesinger #1367 dat. 1892
Diesinger German Beer Stein Threaded Relief Gnomes Playing #1367 dat. Description: This beautiful stein was made in Germany by Adolph Diesinger in (or before) 1892. Diesinger is one of the most collectible beer stein manufacturers. His designs are unique and hard to confuse with anything else. The stein is made in “threaded relief” technique – the contours of the drawing made by raised outline, thus creating a very attractive decoration. The threaded relief picture shows gnomes drinking, dancing and cheering – gnomes were the most favorite Dieisinger subject of all. The central medallion shows inscription that reads: “Geliebt, getrunken, gesungen, so wie die Alten die Jungen” (Loved, drank, sang, just like the old did the young) This stein is from “pre-DRGM” period, manufactured before 1901 when Diesinger took DRGM patent protection on his production. The lid is pewter of steeple ornate kind – a rare thing for Diesinger, he mostly used simple (cheaper) lids. The lid is engraved with presentation inscription: “Zum Erinnerung an das Jahr 1892″ – “For the memory of the year 1892″. The stein is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs with only some age-related gold wear. It is 7.5 tall to the top of the thumblift, 0.5L capacity. Condition: Excellent w/ minor age-related wear. Height: 7.5 in. Auctiva offers Free Image Hosting and Editing. Track Page Views With.
