This beautiful antique beer stein was made by Hauber & Reuther (HR) manufacturing company in around 1890s. The steins produced by HR are ones of the most collectible and desirable for the excellent quality and also rarity. The stein is made of special HR hard paste biscuit porcelain with a central. Wilhelm 1895 – Dedicated to Mr. Wilhelm Fremdd Brewmaster by R. The stein was a gift to a brew master from an employee or a grateful customer in the year of 1895. Mold number 18, decoration number 164. This mold was used for several hand-painted enameled images – mostly copies of popular artworks at the time. It is marked with impressed “HR” Hauber and Reuther mark, impressed “18” mold number and inked “164” decoration number. There is also the impressed mark “Germany” according to the German “Merchandise Marks Act of 1887″. The lid is also marked on the inside with “HR” and “RZ” marks. Hauber and Reuther made their own highest quality lids. “RZ” stands for “Rein Zinn” or highest quality pewter. The stein is 9.5 to the top of the thumblift, 0.5 L capacity.
