Presented for your consideration is this antique German regimental artillery beer stein. The stein has a yellow band with an ornate pattern done in black around the bottom with red-brown stripes around the top and bottom of the yellow band. The middle section of the stein shows three different military scenes. On the front is a crest with the number 14 in the center and German writing along the top and through the ribbon at the bottom. At the sides of the crest are lists of names of those in the regiment. On one side of the stein is a scene showing several German soldiers gathered around a large cannon. The opposite side has a scene of a soldier firing a cannon. Coming out of the cannon is a small man who is headed toward a woman in a purple dress ready to catch him. German writing is at the top of each scene as well as around the top of the stein. The stein is completed with a pewter lid and thumb pull. The thumb pull is in the shape of an eagle with its wings spread wide. The lid itself has an ornate military theme around the base with two soldiers and a cannon sitting on top of the lid. The lid easily opens and closes. On the inside bottom is a lithophane of what appears to be two men. Beautiful, intricate detailing is present throughout the stein and the colors are vibrant. Enameled accenting is present throughout the scene on the outside of the stein. Guaranteed to be antique. This neat beer stein would make a great addition to any military memorabilia or stein collection! Some of the lettering and names have worn and become faint but are still fairly readable. The lid is slightly loose where the bracket meets the handle. No cracks or chips. Overall in VERY GOOD condition. Please refer to the photos for the absolute best details.
