This type a stein collectors called “Regensburg”, by the name of the region where it was first produced, even though the majority were made in Westerwald. These steins were press-molded to a wooden form, they were turned afterwards to make the insides round, then they were fired and the salt was applied to create the very solid surface. This stein has three panels decorating the body. Stein in mint condition, without damage. Lid has small smash from inside, in the place of connection.
