VERY LARGE 3-LITER GERMAN BEER STEIN. This is a nice old pottery stein from Germany. It has a deeply embossed design of a Zither player with two women and a dog looking on. It is beautifully adorned with Edelweiss flowers. It is brightly colored with a cobalt background. The pottery is a cream color. The stein has a hinged pewter lid with a thumb rest. There are plaques which read. Kredenzt das Dirndl Bier und Wein. Spielt der Hager die Zither recht fein. Which roughly translates to English to say. “If the Diandl serves beer and wine- does the hunter play the zither very well”. It is stamped GERMANY #1029 3L.
