Large Antique Jugendstil German Beer Stein Duemler/Breiden by Paul Wynand #1741 c. Description: Presented is large antique German beer stein/server from the early 1930s – the end of the era of German version of Art Nouveau called in Germany “Jugendstil” and the beginning of Art Deco. Made of stoneware with beautiful brown glaze created to imitate the famous “Braun gefflammt” glaze by R. Merkelbach very popular at the time. Nice pewter lid with elegant thumblift. The majority of the Duemler and Breiden were designed by Paul Duemler. However, there were a few steins that were designed by guest designers such as Paul Wynand, Alfred Kapm and some others. It is hard to tell who designed this particular stein. The stein is 9.5 tall to the top of the thumblift, 2L capacity. Height: 9.5 in. Get Supersized Images & Free Image Hosting.
