German Regimental Beer Stein 1900-1903 Regt 2 Chev Bezold Rare Saddle Thumb Lift
It is a rather rare find. This beautiful stein is approximately 11 1/2 inches tall and is in very good condition. We have included photos of our store showcase that has all our available steins. The majority of authentic German regimental beer steins were produced between about 1890 and 1914. During this time, military service was compulsory in Germany. Most men would take basic training between 17 and 20 and then enter the reserves until age 40. A group of men would enter a unit together, stay in the same unit for training and be discharged as a unit. Rosters of names from your unit, or regiment, could be added to the steins and these became known to collectors as regimental steins. The beginning of WW I effectively ended the production of regimental steins as labor and materials were diverted to the war. We are Gannon’s Antiques and Art in Fort Myers, Florida. Vintage Pewter Lidded German Musical Beer Stein #20 Lift and Play Music Box 13
This listing is for the vintage pewter lidded German Musical Beer Stein shown. It is approximately 13 inches high 2 liter? , has an ornamental design pewter lid and a beautiful hand painted, deeply embossed graphic design depicting folks dancing on a cobalt blue background. One band is decorate with edelweiss flowers and the elaborate base band is ruffled. It is in excellent vintage condition with no significant faults found. There are no chips, cracks or crazing on the stein. The musical box fuctions as it is intended and plays a clearly audible tune.
