Saint Florian Puts Out Fire by Mettlach 1 L German beer stein antique # 1786
“Saint Florian Extinguishes Conflagration”. German ceramic, etched, 1 liter, pewter lid. The lid text reads. Hilf Du heil’ger Florian, wir fangen’s zweite Löschen an. And translates to : Help thou Holy Florian, we begin the second extinguishing. Mettlach – design attr. Hupp – date code 90 = 133 years old! Condition and Description: Overall a fair condition specimen, issues of note: dragon head thumblift’s lower jaw has been broken and bonded back in place & the pewter lid has a couple dings/mild deformation (jaw & deformation highlighted in last pic – exactly as pictured). This is a fun stein, with great color, presence and still displays well (especially head on)! Height: 10.25 tall from base to top of thumblift. Width: 4.5 at the base of stein’s body.
