Antique Blown Glass German Beer Stein Enameled WHand Painted w/ Pewter Lid c. Description: This beautiful stein was made in late 18 90 – early 1900s. It was made of hand-blown glass with thick applied handle and decorated with hand-painted enameled decorations to creat e this wonderful appearance. Nice elaborate ena meled painting is made of thick almost relief-like glass enamel and depicts a beautiful bouquet of flowers with inscription. The inscription reads: “Zum Andenken” – “For the memory” Apparently, the stein was made on a special order as a present to commemorate and event or a person. Nice ornate pewter lid with a floral thumblift. The stein is in perfect flawless condition with no cracks, lines or chips. Reinhold Hanke German 3 Liter Charlemagne Beer Stein withPewter Lid
We are offering a very fine 3 liter German pottery beer stein by “Reinhold Hanke”. The central image typically depicts Charlemagne or Charles the Great (747-814), whose empire included much of western and centray Europe. Other images include Pipin of Harstal (Pipino 640-714), a great grandfather of Charlemagne, and Charles the Hammer (Carolus Martellus, 688-741), Pipin’s sonand one of Charlemagne’s grandfathers, who is generally credited with founding the Carolingian Dynasty. Inside in the middle of the body is a piece of metal with a hole in the center. How it was put there and why several experts have been baffled.
