Antique German Regimental Beer Stein Hessen Hussar Regiment No. Description: Original regimental (Reservisten) stein. Belonged to Hussar Rehbehn from Hannoverisch Hussar Regiment No. Hussars were light cavalry units in German Imperial army. The stein is very typical for the mid-1890s Regimentals with pedestals and massive non-figural lids. Made of hard porcelain with lithophane in the bottom showing a courting couple in a tavern. This particular litho is not very common. The stein is in excellent flawless condition, no chips or cracks, no lithophane crazing no repairs, lid sitting tight. The finial is slightly pushed down. There is some age-related fading to the side text, but it still reads for the most part. It is large and impressive, staying at 9 tall, 0. Please note – this is original authentic regimental stein from the period. I guarantee my description and dating. Condition: Excellent w/some fading. Finial slightly pushed down. ” Student Society Stein “. German ceramic, hand-painted, 1/2 L, pewter lid. Wappen / Coat of Arms reads. Frischer Mut und reine Ehr’ freier Männer beste Wehr! ” translates to, “Fresh courage and pure honor, free men’s best defence! By Mettlach – date code 10 = 113 years old. Condition and Description: Overall in good condition (only knock is a top rim chip, mostly obscured when lid is closed, shown in last pic – exactly as pictured). The lid is engraved with initials and the body has names along with a date of 21 June 1911. Height: 6.2 tall from base to top of thumblift. Width: 3.85 at the base. Saint Florian Puts Out Fire by Mettlach 1 L German beer stein antique # 1786
“Saint Florian Extinguishes Conflagration”. German ceramic, etched, 1 liter, pewter lid. The lid text reads. Hilf Du heil’ger Florian, wir fangen’s zweite Löschen an. And translates to : Help thou Holy Florian, we begin the second extinguishing. Mettlach – design attr. Hupp – date code 90 = 133 years old! Condition and Description: Overall a fair condition specimen, issues of note: dragon head thumblift’s lower jaw has been broken and bonded back in place & the pewter lid has a couple dings/mild deformation (jaw & deformation highlighted in last pic – exactly as pictured). This is a fun stein, with great color, presence and still displays well (especially head on)! Height: 10.25 tall from base to top of thumblift. Width: 4.5 at the base of stein’s body. ” Student Society Stein “. German ceramic, transfer & hand-painted, 1/2 L, pewter lid. Schauer – body dated 1891/1892. Condition and Description: Overall in very good condition, only minor condition issues of note: minimal wear, pewter strap is loose so lid has some play but sits perfectly flush when left at rest & pewter tear repair where tang meets lid (pewter tear repair shown in last pic – exactly as pictured). Oh and the thumblift is a crowned lion holding a shield. Height: 7.6 tall from base to top of thumblift. Width: 3.85 at the base.
