1880 Fritz Thenn German salt glaze stoneware figural ceramic beer stein 10+. This stein is a very rare find originating in Regensburg, Germany, in the Fritz Thenn factory. The gray ceramic stein is topped off by an even more rare figural porcelain lid of a young man eyeing an empty stein. The sides of the stein features King Gambrinus, the legendary inventor of brewing, astride a barrel, flanked on either side by personifications of barley and hops. The text roughly translates to Live it up, live with thanks to Gambrinus, barley, and hops.
