We are offering a rare German 0.5l hand decorated with engraved pewter lid from the Augustus Saeltzer Factory in Eisenach. This stein is a masterpiece of design and hand decoration. It has a dragon design with a cartouch in the center which translates to ” Eat what is cooked, drink what is clear, speak what is true and love what is rare”. The pewter lid is heavy with multiple levels, the strap is tight and the tang is firmly affixed to the lid. The thumblift is plumb design. There are hand engraved initials on the center of the lid.
