Antique German Pressed Glass Beer Stein Inlaid Lid with Humorous Newlywed Scene c. Description: This very interesting German beer stein was made around late 1880s – early 1890s. The body of the stein is made of pressed glass with molded decorations showing two Cupids drinking – quite an unusual scene. The lid is inlaid with porcelain insert. The insert is nicely and skillfully painted porcelain miniature showing a lady in a floral shop asking the sales person. Dame: Haben sie etwas sinniges für neuver heurathete? There are some age-related wear and some scratches on the bottom, but no damage whatsoever Please note – the glass steins are probably the only antique steins that could be used for their original purpose – they could be washed perfectly clean. It’s so nice to have a good brew from about 140 years old drinking vessel! It is 9 tall to the top of the thumblift, 0.5L capacity. I guarantee my description and dating.
