Antique Jugendstil Art Nouveau Beer Stein Marzi&Remy by G. Partz #2312c. 1910s
Antique Jugendstil Art Nouveau Beer Stein Marzi&Remy by G. Partz # 2312 c. This beautiful stein was made by Marzi and Remy around 1905 – 1910. Very typical Jugendstil (German Art Nouveau) style. The Jugendstil beer stein of Marzi and Remy were often designed by prominent and famous Jugendstil designers and art professors like Albin Mueller, Peter Behrens, Bruno Mauder, Richard Riemerschmid, Karl Goerig, etc. This particular design is attributed to Gustav Partz (1883 – 1957) – a well-known Jugendstil designer who studied at Dusseldorf Art School under Peter Behrens and became a professor of Art himself in 1920. The stein is made of gray pottery with cobalt blue glaze – the very traditional Westerwald ware. Nice elegant pewter in style with the body design. Antique German Jugendstil Art Nouveau Beer Stein Steinzeug Coblenz #123 c. 1910s
Antique German Jugendstil Art Nouveau Beer Stein Steinzeug Coblenz #123 c. Description: This beautiful stein was made around late 1910. Very typical Jugendstil (German Art Nouveau) style. Jugendstil beer stein of Steinzeug Industrie Coblenz were designed mostly by two prominent Jugendstil designers – Leonhard Hellmuth and Carl Moos. The steins made by this company are not very common but highly collectable. It was designed in a very specific manner that was called Jugendstil – the unique German version of Art Nouveau – the new aesthetics that took over the world in the late 1800s – early 1900s. The stein is made of saltglazed stoneware with cobalt blue glaze – the very traditional Westerwald ware in the distinctive Jugendstil aesthetics. I attribute the design to Paul Wynand – a well-know Jugendbstil ceramics deisgner who worked wth major beer stein manufacturers such us Steinzeug Coblenz, Reinhold Merkelbach, Marzi and Remy, S. Gerz and so on. But I could be wrong – it is hard to attribute, many Jugendstil designers used each other’s elemnts and patterns. 6 tall to the top of the thumblift, 0.5L capacity. Antique German Jugendstil Glass Enameled Beer Stein des. By F. Ringer c. 1905
Antique German Jugendstil Glass Beer Stein Enameled des. Description: Great stein in Jugendstil (German Art Nouveau) style. Classical hand-blown bohemian glass with enameled decorations. Designed by Franz Ringer – he was the most famous Jugendstil artist and designer who actually created this style – inspired by Jugendstill/Art Nouveau historically stylized in early 1800s aesthetics called Biedermeier. A prominent painter and sculptor from Munich, he also created many well-known beer stein designs for Marzi and Remy, Villeroy and Boch Mettlach, Reinhold Merkelbach and many others. The design consists of a medallion with a scene of a hunter shooting a lleaping stag. The stein is not signed by FR signature, but this design is quite famous. You can see it in my scan of a page from “The Beer Stein Book” by Gary Kirsner, attributed to Ringer. The lid is pewter designed as well in this specific Jugendstil style. The glass steins with F. Ringer designs are quite rare – they’re really hard to find. Please keep in mind the old glass is absolutely safe to drink from – it could be cleaned perfectly as opposed to antique stoneware, pewter or pottery. The stein is in excellent condition. It is 8 tall to the top of the thumblift, 0.5 L capacity. Auctiva offers Free Image Hosting and Editing. Track Page Views With. Auctiva’s FREE Counter.
