German Regimental Beer Stein Dragoon Calvary 1897-1900 No 16 Lithophane
This beautiful stein is approx 11 1/2 inches tall and is in excellent condition. Please see our photos. The majority of authentic German regimental beer steins were produced between about 1890 and 1914. During this time, military service was compulsory in Germany. Most men would take basic training between 17 and 20 and then enter the reserves until age 40. A group of men would enter a unit together, stay in the same unit for training and be discharged as a unit. Rosters of names from your unit, or regiment, could be added to the steins and these became known to collectors as regimental steins. The beginning of WW I effectively ended the production of regimental steins as labor and materials were diverted to the war. We are Gannon’s Antiques and Art in Fort Myers, Florida. A fantastic German Regimental Beer Stein, full of detail from top to bottom! Named to the Prince Carl of Bavaria Regiment, the outside is decorated with different scenes that are described in German on the banners beneath. The bottom rim has the name “Reiter Faeustle”, and it is topped with a figure of a rider on horseback. The thumb-lever for the lid is in the form of a lion holding a shield. This is a lithophane mug, a method of pottery that used differing thicknesses of porcelain to form an image of surprising detail when held up to the light. The interior shows a portrait of a man in military dress.

Antique Porcelain WWI 1912-14 Regimental Pionier Burger Lithophane Pewter Lidded German Beer Stein 0.5L 12 Height. HOCH LEBE DER RESERVEMANN. Full color with roster list and pictures of the K. Ingolstadt, 1912-14 with a picture of the Bavarian King Ludwig III. Lithophane of a Fraulein (German Lady). Stein Size: 0.5L. No Cracks, No Chips, No Hairlines, No Repairs. Bottom of the stein has some darker markings on the white porcelain from standing on display (see pictures).

Vintage 1960s German Navy Regimental Parole Heimat Porcelain Lithophane Beer Stein features. Battalion finial anchor & rope and Eagle Thumblift. The domed pewter lid has a German inscription and a standing Seaman Officer in very defined uniform. His right hand holds an anchor. The front of the domed lid features an eagle and military items on its right and left sides, as to swords, helmets, a saddle and a flag. The thumblift is a crowned eagle. Lithophane in the bottom of the stein is depicted in 4 last photos. The stein measures approx. 13-1/2″ tall, 6″ across with handle, and 4-5/8 in diameter at the base, net weight 2 lb 8 oz.

This listing is for an Antique German Military Regimental Beer Stein With Horseman in Battle Metal Lid. There is some wear from use, age & storage, but overall it is still in good condition. Didn’t see any cracks. There is a reddish brown circle mark near the handle. Not sure if that is a factory imperfection or not. German regimental beer stein with pewter lid in very good overall condition, some light wear present. Top of the pewter lid has a soldier standing next to a Gryphon holding a shield. Has a lithophane of a soldier embracing with his wife. The stein reads 5. Kaiser Fredrich III No. ” The height of the stein is 12″.
