Vintage Ornate German Hand Painted Lidded Ceramic Pewter Beer Stein
Vintage Collectible German “Hand Painted” Lidded Beer Stein (Stein #4). This is Part #4 of the series, and the last stein of the #4 part hand-painted artisan stein collection passed down within my family. These steins come directly from Germany. The steins are all exquisitely artisan hand-painted and quite ornate in detail. They depict unique artisan work and detail and as well have a pewter lid. They do not appear to be dated, but are at least to be 1940’s or very likely even decades earlier. This stein likely has the most detailed design of the four, and the condition is very good overall for the age. No cracks or chips in the steins itself. There are some minor paint chips in the artwork and it comes exactly as shown.

German Ceramic Beer Tankard Stein Hallmark Hand Painted BASKET OF FLOWERS c1800
German Ceramic Tankard with Pewter Lid, Hallmarks & Handpainted. Presented is a fine quality hand painted German beer stein or tankard with hallmarks. This item has a great hand painted design of a basket of flowers and a pewter lid with an interesting beehive shaped finial thumb and bottom surround base. It has a hand painted potted floral design of blue yellow and green on a white background with a crazed glaze heavy finish. This is a beautiful item for the beer stein collector and has great classic Germanic look. It has numerous marks including a mark for the makers on the bottom. I have an interesting selection of items listed currently so please look at my other auctions. Measure : 8 ¾” inches tall, 3 ¾” inches across, 4 1/16 across silver lid, 5 inches across bottom. Weight : 29.7 ounces on my postal scale or 842 Grams. Marks : Marks for German Metal ware, an HU on the bottom. Condition : No dents, no dings, beautiful rustic piece with crazed glaze but no chips. Some ware to pattern on ceramic. 8″ inches tall to top of lid thumb, 4 1/8″ inches across opening, 4 3/8 inches across Bottom. 21.5 ounces on my postal scale or 597 grams. Hallmarked for Silver made by Johan Christian Pinter Bergen Norway c1814 – Please see pictures for research. A little wiggle to hinge lid, The thumb of lid has detached and will need to be reattached for proper display, some cracks and past repair to ceramic, some crazing and minor chipping of glazing on outer edges, some crazing on the bottom, a few minor dings, no monogram, some fine minor scratches from gentle use and care.
