Bought in Nuremberg in 1999, put in a china cabinet, New, never used. 6 high x 6 wide x 4 deep, weight: 1lb. ANTIQUE LIDDED BEER STEINS 2pcs GERMAN SWISS Glass Pewter Porcelain w Enamel Art. Two late 19th century German or Swiss beer steins. Their cylindrical glass bodies have a molded panel section at the base and are fitted with a pewter mount and decorated porcelain inset cover. Stein A: Pewter mount with horse head thumb piece. Porcelain decorated with the bust of a royal figure holding a chalice. The man has brown hair and wears a crown and robe with ermine collar. Stein B: Pewter mount with stylized harp thumb piece. Porcelain decorated with a couple, the woman is sewing/knitting and the man is sitting backward on a side chair and observing. Stein A: 5 3/4″ h x 4 3/4″ w. Stein B: 5 7/8″ h x 4 3/4″ w. Some light scratches throughout to be expected with age and use. Both steins have some minor flaking around the bottom rim. This pair would make the perfect addition to your collection! 2 Early Antique German Beer Steins, Lidded Pewter Hinged Tops, Salt Glaze Pottery
2 Early Antique Salt Glaze German Beer Steins, Pewter Hinged Tops. Two early German Steins. Both come from a family in Indiana. One is blue salt glaze and the other is brown with blue. Gorgeous decorations on each, check all my pictures. Both have ornate pewter covers and writing on each top rim. The blue does have Germany on the bottom and the brown has the number 7. The brown has a chip, but in great condition, not cracks or hairlines. The blue has a kiln made chip on handle and loose cover… One side of hinge is missing. Both have decent cover tops and will still work fine, just the blue is loose a bit, but can be fixed. I tighten the hinge and the top stays okay. Both steins need an inside cleaning.
