Antique Regimental Military German Beer Stein Pewter Lid King Ludwig Lithopane
Antique Regimental Military German Beer Stein Pewter Lid King Ludwig Lithopane. A great piece of history, this stunning beer stein was presented to a Michael Zauber for his service in WWI. Date on the stein is 1899 – 1904. Has a beautiful prism on the top of the lid depicting officers celebrating with beers. The names of others in the regiment are listed on either side of the handle. The lid is pewter and decorated with a lion and the prism. Inside the stein is a lithopane of King Ludwig II of Bavaria. Measures approximately 9 inches tall. Diameter of the opening is 3 inches. The base is 3 7/8 inches. The condition is very nice. Some fading of color around the bottom rim and on the handle. The prism has slight chipping but does not interfere with the beauty. Antique 1800’s hand painted porcelain glass pewter German lidded beer stein mug
Up for sale is a nice quality antique 19th century lidded German beer stein. The pewter lid has a wonderful convexed porcelain insert that is painted by hand with a lettering reading “Bum Geburststag”. The hinged lid is mounted to a thick mold blown glass mug and in nice used condition. It is also engraved by hand on the body reading “Georg Birkel”. German Stoneware Beer Krug Stein Gambrinus King of Beers Crown Lid 0.75L 11.75
We are delighted to offer this rare vintage hand painted beer stein which honors Gambrinus, the legendary king of beer; resting on a keg, lifting his chalice and offering a toast. An impressive solid pewter crown figurine sits atop a relief pewter lid. The front panel is framed by stone columns and the sides feature depictions of hops. A hop & leaf border encircles the top and bottom of the stein with a lion and beer mug border below. A poem saluting Gambrinus appears on the right and left panel in German. I made malt out of barley and was first to create beer. That is why the Brewers can proudly claim, it was a King who invented the Beer. It measures approximately 11.8 high x 5 diameter and is in very good gently used condition with a scratch on the rim of the lid. This can be observed in photo #10.
