It has ribbing around the base and neck. The pitcher is grey salt-glazed stoneware with the typical cobalt and brown glaze in Germany. There is a pewter lid with a stoneware conical insert that matches he pitcher. #686A is embossed into the bottom. ANTIQUE GERMAN CUT GLASS THUMBPRINT WITH HAND PAINTED HUNTER AND WAITRESS SCENE CERAMIC PEWTER LID 8 1/2 BEER STEIN 1870’s. This is in Excellent Condition with No Chips No Cracks No Fleabites. Very Nice Antique German Lidded Beer Stein. This features a clear glass with thumbprints stacked in panels seperated by vertical cuts, larger thumbprints near the base with a thumbnail edge. The lid has a hand painted scene of a hunter with his kill being served a beer outside of a tavern. This is dated from the 1870’s. This measures 8 1/2. ” High x 2 5/8″ Wide rim to rim. Huge 16-1/2 Tall Vintage German Made Lidded Beer Mug Stein
H u ge vi ntage German-made l id d ed bee r mug (s tein). Measures about 16-1/2 tall from the base to the tip of the lid. I ts circumference at the base (the w id est point) is about 18. And it weights a whopping 6 lbs 4 oz. Base has a West Germany & Germany stamps. Its desig n is very intricate as can b e seen in the pictures. Not sure of w hat m a t er ial the mug i tself is made of, however. I think it could be ceramic but again i’m not sure. This mug still remains in good condition. It was n’t used for drinking. It served a decorative purpose at the house (stood on the shelf for about 20 yea rs). I didn’ t see any dama ge or seri o us imperfections. Though it does have some minor cosmetic flaws such a some wear/scuffs on the handle , at the base & on the lid. There may be other minor fl a ws present as well that I just haven’t noticed. But it does require some further cleaning. I dusted it off a little before the listing but it can definitely use more. Please don’t hesitate to ask questions. Tracking will also be provided. Im a very reasonable person & will work with you to resolve whatever issue you are having with a particular item. We are all human so mistakes & oversights can happen (as well as other unforeseen issues) so I would greatly appreciate it if you give me the opportunity to straighten things out before taking any action. Antique German Stoneware Lidded Beer Stein Mug Marked P Prototype
ANTIQUE GERMAN STONEWARE LIDDED BEER STEIN MUG MARKED P – PROTOTYPE? Ed for Sale is this AMAZING Antique German Stoneware Beer Stein. The only marking I can find on this stein is a stamped P on the bottom. I have been told that a P often identifies the stein as a prototype. I will leave verification of that fact to the viewer. The stein has a German phrase on the front which I have only partially been able to decipher (will leave the translation to the viewer for fear of getting it wrong). This early stein is in amazing condition and would make a Great Addition to any Breweriana Collection. Condition: – Good to Very Good Condition. I find very few imperfections on this stein. There are some “age lines – splitting” where the handle attaches to the body of the stein. There are some minor decoration losses scattered throughout. The lid is in excellent condition. Please see the pictures to view the condition of the item for yourself. Size: Height 5 3/4″ to top of lid, 7 1/4″ to top of handle – Base Width 4.
