It also has the crests of the other 19 principalities. Engraved on the rim as a gift from an aunt and uncle. 12 tall In very good condition.

“Berlin Coat-of-Arms with Saying”. German ceramic, etched, 1/2 L, inlaid lid. The lid text reads. And translates to : “Bradenburg Gate” & “On the green banks of the Spree river”. Mettlach – design attr. Hupp – date code 00 = 123 years old! Condition and Description: Overall an excellent condition specimen, visually mint (some very minor browning in interior, exactly as pictured). This is a fun stein, with great color, presence and displays incredibly well! Height: 6.9 tall from base to top of thumblift. Width: 4.75 at the base of stein’s body. Impressive c1880s German Cut Glass Crystal Pewter Lid 1.5L Andvari Gnome Stein. Presented is an impressive antique German cut glass crystal stein or pitcher, with pewter mounts. The body of the stein is heavy weight cut glass in a ten sided, paneled design. The stein stands on a round foot with a star design cut into the bottom. The handle, thumbpiece and bottom of the lid are pewter, well made and sturdy. The thumbpiece is done in the form of a charming little gnome figure (the gnome king Andvari, in fact) sat astride a beer barrel, arms raised in a most celebratory fashion with a beer stein in one hand and what looks to be a turnip in the other. The stein has a capacity of 1.5 liters, or 50.7 fluid ounces. This piece is in excellent condition. The glass has no chips, no cracks, no breaks, and no repairs. The pewter lid and handle are in great shape, with no breaks or repairs. Circa 1920 Bavarian Pewter Beer Stein with German Relief Artwork, Made In Germany. Minor ding on lid. Minor crack on thumb piece. Angel and Balance Makers Mark on bottom (for authenticity). I’ve only been able to find 4 others online period, 3 others identical to mine with just the differences of dings and tarnishing. I’m offering mine for much less due to the fact there is a very minor age crack starting on the thump piece (in the pictures) and a little bit of a bend on the top front lip of the lid in the pictures.

How you see it, is exactly how it was received. This beautiful stein measures 12 tall. I do not see any breaks, cracks, or repairs to it. The soldier on the lid is missing whatever it was he was holding in that loop in his hand and his barrel of the gun has a slight bend to it.
