Antique Dated 1824 & 1888 Pewter Lidded German Tankard Stein -Players Club – NYC. Originally dated and etched in 1824, it was afterwards dated 1888 and had the words “The Players (Club) Beverly Cheu” engraved on the edge of the lid. “The Players” (aka The Players Club) is a club of artists and arts lovers in New York City founded in 1888 and still located in its original 1840’s mansion in Grammercy Park. This person was either an artist or actor charter member or perhaps a supporter or patron of the arts in Manhattan. Interesting piece of NYC entertainment or arts memorabilia. In good condition considering its age with a little wear here and there. Please see our pictures.

Features an inebriated gnome being carted home after some debauchery by some female Gnomes who care about him. He is flanked by his no-good friends who joined him on his bender.
