Vintage German Beer Stein WithPewter Lid Music Box Hand Painted
This is one vintage one of a king German stein play as picked up from the table. Overall it is in good shape with one flaw on the bottom area below the lil boy figurine it’s chipped. The damage is so minor it looks like it could be fixed. Truly and unique beer stein. I have a video of the melody and the stein is functional. Please copy and paste the link to view the video.

Marzi & Remy Beer Stein Rare Art Deco Starburst Unique Design Vintage 8in German
The firm of Marzi & Remy was founded in the Westerwald town of Höhr in 1879 by Anton Marzi and Simon Peter Remy. By the end of the 19th century M&R employed more than 100 workers and had become one of Germany’s leading stoneware producers. Although it managed to survive two World Wars, the company found itself unable to cope with the rapidly changing marketplace of the late 20th century and was forced to permanently close its doors in 1994. Germans do not commonly use the word “stein” to refer to the beer drinking vessel. In fact, the word “stein” literally means “stone” in German. Historically speaking, the word “stein” used to refer to a beer drinking vessel coming from steinzeng meaning “stoneware” or steinkrug meaning stoneware jug. Some believe that steins were invented during the bubonic plague with hinged lids to keep flies out of the beer. Many steins no longer use lids, nor is the origin story necessarily true. This uniquely colored stoneware jug is decorated in a very unique starburst design reminiscent of the Aztecs (at least to me). It seems to be a one-off, one-of-a-kind beer stein.
Old German Lidded Beer Tankard Stein Beer Mug (11)
Up for sale is an old lidded beer glass tankard possibly from Germany. It looks like a tankard that might have been used in a bar/tavern. I think the lid is made from pewter. It has the number 11 etched into the lid. It measures about 5.25″ high and 3.25″ across the base. It weighs about 975 grams. It is marked/etched on the side 0.3L I think for the volume. It has very thick glass that has many imperfections/flaws including distortions/striations and air bubbles. There is considerable wear and aging. It has some small chips and some rough areas that I have tried to show in the last photos. There will be more I have not shown but these are the worst areas. I have not tried to polish the pewter so there is staining and a patina. I mainly sell used older items including antiques, collectibles and oddities so please expect some signs of wear from use.
