1800’s Hand Painted German Beer Stein For Judge Von Mandelsloh Porcelain & Glass. Beautiful Hand Painted German Beer Stein For a Judge Ms. Wagemann with the Mandelsloh Family Crest painted on the lid. The glass has a lot of chipping along the bottom edge where it was obviously used many times at the beer hall back in the late 1800’s. It looks to be dated from 1881/1882. The top is all hand painted. The stein is about 6 1/2 tall. Montclair estates has used its best efforts to inspect the item(s) for sale and create descriptions and furnish photographs that fairly and adequately depict the type, condition and image of the goods at the time of sale.

Large Antique Blue and White Porcelain German Beer Stein Delft Style w/Lithophane by Swaine and Co. Description: Presented is a large antique German porcelain beer stein made around the early 1900s. Beautiful hand-painted picture decorations in underglaze flow cobalt-blue. This type of decoration is called “Delft style” and usually associated with Dutch porcelain. It shows a bucolic Dutch view with a canals and windmills. The stein was made by German company Swaine & Co (1854 – 1920) in Huttensteinach, Thuringia. Swaine produced very few steins, just 3 or 4 varieties, all with this Delft style motives. The large 1 liter one is quite rare. Pewter lid with matching porcelain inlay featuring a windmill. Nice lithophane in the bottom (a picture you can see against the light) showing a farewell scene with hunters leaving for their hunt.
