Tall 4L Vintage German Beer Stein with Lid
This is a large 4 liter vintage Gerz beer stein with lid made in Germany. In decent condition considering it’s age. It has some worn spots as well as some scuffing around the base and one tiny chip. I’ve tried to capture these areas in the photos. Lid is dull and no longer shiny on the outside. Measures approximately 22″ tall and the base is about 7″ in circumference. Weighs about 9 lbs. Stamped on the bottom is the Made in Germany Gerz seal and 4L. Colors are dark navy and brown. Features people visiting in a tavern smiling and looking happy. Lots of detail work in the flowers and patterns that go around the circumference of the stein – woodsy theme. Handle is made to look like woven wood. Words inscribed along the top are Bei Tanz und Scherz bleibt from das Herz. The heart stays happy when dancing and joking. Antique glass pewter lidded figural hand enameled painted German beer stein mug
Up for sale is a wonderful antique hand enameled lidded German beer stein. It’s made of thick clear glass with gold gilded hobnail detailing. The stein is beautifully painted with hand laid enameling depicting a middle aged male and reads “Zum HochzeitsFeste” above. The hinged pewter lid is attached to the glass handle and has a very ornate design. It’s in lovely condition and measures 10 inches tall by 5 1/2 inches wide. Bierfabrication 1873 1/2L German beer stein antique, painted hunter inlaid lid
“Bierfabrication 1873 + Hunter Lid”. German stoneware, relief, 1/2 L, inlaid lid. The text on the body reads: Bierfabrication 1873. And translates to : Brewing Beer 1873. Condition and Description: Overall in very good condition. Only issues of note, some original factory lines/imperfections + minor soiling (exactly as pictured). That said, this stein is a bit different, the main theme appears to be gnomes hard at work brewing beer for King Gambrinus. The lid is quite interesting too, it is inlaid + hand painted with a forest scene in which a hunter is getting into position to fire on his quarry. Finally the thumblift is of a buck’s head. Antique 1800’s hand painted porcelain glass pewter German lidded beer stein mug/
Up for sale is a nice quality antique 19th century lidded German beer stein. The pewter lid has a wonderful convexed porcelain insert that is painted by hand with a wonderful figural scene. The hinged lid is mounted to a thick mold blown glass mug and in nice used condition. It is also engraved by hand on the body reading “Fred Beer”. It measures 6 1/4 inches tall by 4 1/4 inches long.
