Blown clear engraved glass antique German beer stein castles & jumping deer
Overall in mint condition! This is a beautiful antique. Blown clear glass wheel engraved. Body has multiple engraved scenes, showing deer jumping in meadows, several castles & a repeating Art Nouveau design – the inlaid blown glass lid continues the same deer jumping & Art Nouveau design. Finally the thumblift depicts a gnome hiding a beer stein or pitcher behind his back. Okay, the pictures are not my best and leave a lot to be desired… Will retake pictures and update upon request. Vintage Field Artillery Regimental German 1/2 Liter Lidded Beer Stein. Impressive antique beer stein/pitcher with figural finial top and handle. The top features an intricate scrolled design with a figural cannon on the lid and the pewter handle figural features a beautifully crafted lion. This incredible piece was made circa 1901 and is in very fine, previously owned condition. There are no cracks, chips or repairs. The hinged lid is in good working condition with no loosening of the moving parts. This piece measures just over 10 inches tall and is approximately 2.5 inches wide/diameter. Antique Early German Westerwald Stoneware Beer Stein Walzenkrug c. Description: The beer steins made before 1800 are quite rare – at that time, before the industrial revolution, the production was all manual. Every stein made in the early period was unique, decorated by hand and rarely replicated. This beautiful stein was made in the mid-1700s, it is guaranteed old give or takes 10 years. It is made in a very traditional style of grey stoneware with cobalt-blue glaze. This is a very traditional beer drinking vessel – a type that was produced for over centuries, from the mid-1600s to mid-1800s. The production of saltglazed stoneware beer steins in the Westerwald region of Germany reached the highest quality by the end of the 18th century. The stein is quite elaborately etched all over the body with beautiful floral decorations. The decorations are etched into the clay with a sharp instrument. There are also another kind of decor – pressed with a stamp in between the etched ones. These pressed decor is a sign of mid-1700s, they were not used later as too expensive. The stein is also glazed with cobalt-blue glaze, fired and saltglazed. The lid is pewter with hollow ball ribbed thumblift – this type of thumblifts was used throughout the entire 1700s. The lid is engraved with the original owner initials: F. The stein is in excellent for the age condition – there a very small flake on the upper rim see pics. But there are no larger chips, cracks or even hairlines. There is also no damage or repairs to the pewter apart from normal wear. The stein is large and impressive, standing 10 tall to the top of the thumblift, 1L capacity. I guarantee the authenticity. Condition: Excellent w/minor flake and age related wear. Antique German Beer Stein Hunting Theme withDog Thumblift by Wächtersbach c. 1880s
Antique German Beer Stein Hunting Theme w/Dog Thumblift by Wächtersbach c. Description: This beauti ful and impressive antique German beer stein was made by the Wächtersbach ceramics factory – a factory with an old history of producing excellent quality ceramics items. The factory was established in 1832 as the Waechtersbacher Keramik in Brachttal- Schlierbach in Hesse, near the town of Wächtersbach. Between the end of the 19th and the middle of the 20th century, it was one of the most important German manufacturers of earthenware goods, both in terms of the scope of production and the quality of its design. However, the factory was making lots of everyday ceramics for German consumers, but beer steins were really scarce – there are just a few models that were made – and my guess is they were all made in late 1870s – early 1880s under the factory manager Max Roesler. The next manager, Christian Neureuther, moved the company towards Jugendstil/Art Nouveau direction. This stein was made in the early 1880s from very fine stoneware with some glass-based glaze. It was molded and filled with liquid clay, so the details became quite sharp and precise. The high-raised bas-relief decorations show hunting scenes on the sides with some hunting paraphernalia – a trophy bag, a horn, a rifle, and a long knife (along with a flask with some liquid) – in the middle. The lid is made of pewter with a beautiful figure of a dog for the thumblift and an inlay made of the same stoneware material with a hunting hat for the finial. It is marked with incised “Wächtersbach” and letters “H” and P. I was not able to decipher these. Th e stein is in excellent condition – no cracks, chips or any kind of damage or repairs. The lid is sitting very tight. It is 7.75 to the top of the thumb lift, 0.5L capacity. Height: 7.75 in. Get images that make Supersized seem small. Track Page Views With.
