“High Wheel Bicycle Rider”. German ceramic, etched, 1/2 L, inlaid lid. Text Reads, “Deutscher Rad-Fahrer Bund” & All Heil! And Translates to, “German Cycling Federation” & Safe Travels! By Marzi & Remy – thumblift engraved 1888 = 135 years old! Condition and Description: Overall in excellent+ condition, only minor quibble is some slop at the pewter strap (lid sits perfectly flush when left at rest – exactly as pictured). This a fantastic and uncommon high wheel bicycle stein with great color, tremendous presence and displays incredibly well! The thumblift is quite striking, it is of a large ram holding a shield that has custom engraving – “RV”, 1888 & Kreis Gelhausen. Height: 9.3 tall from base to top of thumblift. Antique German Beer Stein Creussen Type Apostles Apostelkrug c. 1890s
Antique German Beer Stein Creussen Apostles Apostelkrug c. Description: Antique German beer stein made to imitate Renaissance period beer steins made in Creussen in 1600s. These Creussen beer vessels were extremely expensive at the time and very prestigious. In 1880s – 1890s several beer stein manufacturers produced steins imitating faience of 1700s, Creussen and Annaberg stoneware and some Westerwald stoneware of 1600s – 1700s. They were not trying to fake or reproduce them but just worked in popular at the time style called Historismus. This stein is a fine example of Historismus style. It’s form and decorations imitate Creussen steins of mid-1600s with the Twelve Apostles Theme – they show 12 figures with halos representing the twelve Apostles. The stein is made of dark brown stoneware – exactly like Creussen’s – handpainted with brightly colored ceramics paint. The stein has no cracks, chips or other structural damage. Some extensive paint wear. The lid is engraved with initials F. The lid is original to the date but is a replacement lid for the stein. The foot ring is original to the stein. Please note – I have included a picture from Johannes Vogt catalog to show the original Creussen. It is not the one for sale. It is 7 tall to the top of the finial, 1L capacity. German 1L Saltglaze Earlangen Song Fest Beer Stein 1909
We are offering a limited production event 1L saltglaze beer stein with heavy pewter lid. This stein was made specifically for the Frankisches Sangerbund Fest in Erlangen Germany 17 – 21 July 1909. It is in very good condition with no hairlines. There is an inside rim chip under the lid as seen in the photo. The pewter lid is very ornate as is the thumblift of a angel. The raised relief on the front cartouche of the Imperial Eagles and coat of arms of Erlangen. The 1L mark at the top center also is a dating indicator. We want you to have a very pleasant experience. Classic German 1910 Air Force Porcelain Beer Stein Lithophane
The beer stein depicts a colorful rendition of an airfield with planes and zeppelin flying above two German soldiers, while a hot air balloon is being inflated in the background. Two German text blocks appeared to be a list of German soldiers’ names. Pewter lid top has a soaring eagle and lion with a shield. A lovely lithophane of two soldiers honoring their achievements of flying with the crest or flag of their homeland is displayed. On the bottom says ” Western.. “. Measurements are 9.5 inches tall width is 4.5 inches at the base. Estimated weight is 2.06 pounds. This piece has no chips, cracks, or any damage. It is in excellent condition.
