Own a piece of history with this antique rare antique Munich Christmas (Weihnachten) 1914 WWI German Iron Cross pewter lid. The stein is in perfect condition with tight, working lid. This is from the 1914 Christmas in the trenches when troops on both sides lay down their arms and celebrated together in peace, played football in No-Man’s-Land, exchanged chocolates and cigarettes and toasted humanity in the face of horrific war. Included in this lot is a beautifully illustrated book detailing this amazing story of human triumph during wartime, with narrated CD and song by noted folk singer John McCutcheon about the 1914 Christmas truce.

We are offering a c. 1885 German ambrer luster glass pewter lidded 2L beer stein/server in the Mary Gregory style painting with six matching glasses. There are four different paintings. The server stein has the original pewter lid. The strap is tight and the tang is firmly affixed to the lid. This type painting originated in Germany and was made popular in the US by Mary Gregory who painted in this style for about 6 years. This set is in good clean condition.
