VINTAGE GERMAN FIGURAL POTTERY BEER STEIN MONKEY SMOKING PIPE MATTHIAS GIRMSCHEI. VINTAGE GERMAN FIGURAL POTTERY BEER STEIN MONKEY SMOKING PIPE MATTHIAS GIRMSCHEID 828 EXCELLENT CONDITION. Here offered is a mid 20th Century Art Pottery Figural Beer Stein which, I believe, is from the Matthias Girmscheid Pottery Company Germany. This is stamped on the bottom 828 Germany. This shows a comic Monkey in a Top Hat Smog a Pipe. This is in excellent vintage condition with no chips. Cracks, or paint loss. This is 4″ in diameter on the base 5 3/4″ from front to back of handle, and 8 1/4 high. The “Old-German Beer Stein” tag is dated 1960 and was in the Stein when we acquired it from a recent Estate Sale. I do not know if it was original to the Stein or not. Charming mid 1800s German Faience Pottery Pewter Lid Stein w Stag Deer Design. Presented is a charming antique German lidded beer stein, dating to the mid 1800s. This stein is white glazed faience pottery, with a colorful scene on the front of a stag leaping over a fence, with birds in the sky and yellow and pink flowers in the grass underfoot, all done in a charmingly stylized yet distinct style. The lid and foot rim are pewter. This stein has a capacity of a half a liter (500 milliliters/16.9 fluid ounces). This piece is in excellent condition. There are no chips, no cracks, no breaks, and no repairs. The underside of the stein is signed with an incised mark, maybe a letter O or Q. The top of the lid is stamped with a hallmark or maker’s mark we unfortunately do not recognize. The stein stands about 7 1/2 inches to the top of the lid and measures about 4 1/2 inches in diameter at the base, or about 5 3/4 inches from the handle to the front. It features a gorgeous Arts and Crafts style done in high relief along with an open worked thumbpiece and has a hinged pewter lid. The lid is mounted to the applied handle, is hand very intricately engraved in German. It’s in good condition and measures 6 inches tall by 5 1/2 inches long. Here is a recent estate find. This is a Rare Antique Lot of 3 German 1/2L Lidded Beer Stein Tankard Mugs, Made in Germany. They are Signed “Germany” on the Bottom. 8 1/2″, 9″ and 9 1/2 Tall. Don’t pass this one up, This will make a stunning addition to any collection!
LARGE GERZIT W. Germany 12 Apostles Beer Stein-German 94% Zinn Pewter 1L
Notice – Through June 10. This listing is for a VERY RARE Gerz, Gerzit 12 Apostles Beer Stein that is in excellent condition. It is 1.2 liter, a very large and heavy collector’s piece featuring all 12 apostles and Jesus in the center, on the attached pewter body ring. It was manufactured in Sessenbach by Gerz GmbH. It has a flamed tan/brown finish, a valuable solid pewter lid that is marked “Gerz 94% Zinn” and marked W. Germany Original GERZIT GERZ on the bottom of the mug. This modern “Gerzit” ink stamp was used between 1960 – 1990. It is in excellent condition with no visible wear. Size: Approximately 8 1/2″ tall and the bottom is 5 1/8″ wide. The opening under the lid is 3 3/4. It is very heavy; approximately 3 1/2 pounds. Would make a great addition to any stein collector.
